M FURNITURE

The M collection was created as the result of an order of the Music Building Eindhoven, that was completely being redesigned.
Within this redesign, Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe were asked to design everything from the walls of the building outside to cufflinks. Also carpeting, furniture, clothes and dishes were designed by the duo. The M-Series includes a range of models like an ottoman, armchair, sofa, loveseat, chair and ‘listenchair’.  These products are all constructed by a modular system. The designers got inspired by flight cases for the transport of musical instruments, with a hard exterior of high gloss polyester enclosing a soft inside. These furnishings are available in different fabrics and color combinations.

Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe have their own design studio since 1998 in Geldrop. They studied at the Eindhoven Design Academy and the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. Frequently they develop products on their own initiative as Bobbin Lace Lamp, a lamp of glass lace, but they have also worked for many clients like Droog Design, Habitats, Flower Council of Holland, Fortis and Chief Government Architect. The work has been exhibited worldwide and purchased by numerous museums including the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, Manchester City Art Gallery, WOCEF Korea, FIT Museum, New York and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
