Amsterdam University College

Amsterdam University College (AUC) is a public liberal arts college located in the Amsterdam Science Park. There are about 750 students enrolled from more than 60 countries, including the Netherlands. All education is given in English.
The AUC building  was designed by Mecanoo architects in Delft. It covers 5,800 square meters of classrooms, a library, restaurant, lounge, project rooms, conference rooms and workstations. It won the Amsterdam Architecture Prize (Gold A.A.P.) in 2013. The building, which looks very nice in contrast to the business architecture in the region, is a ‘home’ for the students. In connection with domesticity Lensvelt AVL Glyder couches were used in the building.
Realisation: 2012
