Binst Architects Antwerpen

Luikstraat 7, an address with history. Built as a warehouse for rubber from Congo and from the end of October 2018 the new site for B brand, B 7 and Binst Architects.

Lensvelt has, among other things, supplied furniture to Binst Architects from its collection. Including Rick Minkes No Idea sofas in gray and black Richard Hutten This 101 Upholstered Chairs.

For the workplaces and consultation tables, a new table concept called FIVE was created according to B brand design. B brand is a design studio based in Antwerp, under the name of Binst Architects, which focuses in more detail on; branding, exhibition concepts, product development, the design of our own furniture design and exquisite interior design assignments on a private scale. Guided by the strategic thinking of a compact, strong team of interior architects and designers including Wim Heyninck, Ben Depuydt and Sebastiaan Delagrange and through visionary thinking, B brand delivers beautiful solutions based on results that inspire. A refined high-quality end product through powerful lines and a well thought-out design that reflects the soul of craft and honest materials. FIVE is a new, atypical table concept with five legs in collaboration with Lensvelt, a construction kit that can be used in different configurations. The odd number of legs forces an odd seat, whether it is table guests or the table serves as a desk for one. As a variant there is also the HIGH FIVE that is provided as bartable.

Joolz, Amsterdam

In June 2015, Space Encounters won the pitch to design the new Joolz headquarters in a former factory in an up and coming neighborhood in Amsterdam North. The manufacturer and designer of ergonomic prams has a strong focus on sustainability. Keyword of the renovation is positive design, their core value.
The new Joolz headquarters is located in an existing industrial building consisting of a large light factory hall and an office building. All the walls on the ground floor have been removed, creating one large room and allowing the hall to become visible to passers-by. The most dramatic renovation has been the construction of three lavish interior gardens, filled with trees plants, birds and fish. The gardens are a stunning backdrop to the daily office routine and express Joolz’s ideology: positive design. In addition, they improve the indoor climate and provide Joolz’s employees with the opportunity to temporarily retreat to a more exotic workplace. Lensvelt supplied all the furniture. The office spaces are fully equipped with the Boring program, designed by Space Encounters. The gardens have been furnished with AVL Glyders of Atelier van Lieshout and tables from the Lensvelt Meeting Tables program.

Quooker Headquarters

INAMATT studio designed the interior in 2016 for the new headquarters of Quooker.
The base material in the interior of the entrance hall and the offices is slightly stained wood. This material is used to create the custom-made furniture and the paneling on the walls of the cabinet furniture. It radiates calm because of it’s neutral appearance. But it also has a warm atmosphere because it is a natural material with a lively texture. The choice of materials is inherent tp Inamatts way of working. The studio makes it clear that people are always central to them. The interior of the new canteen on the first floor of Quooker was quite a challenge. “Everyone used to have lunch together in a living room setting. But in the new building the space is much larger. The question was up to us to again be able to sit at the kitchen table, but on another level. Which has now become a kind of kitchen. We designed canteen tables with Lensvelt. Around the table there are a wide variety of chairs to give some life, even if they are empty. Also, the lamps above the tables are different in shape. However, it is all performed in one color and the shapes are related to each other “.
The offices are calm through the light, muted colors and natural materials. Much attention has been paid to the acoustics of the new office. Sound absorption is included in the cabinet doors, cabinets themselves, the walls and the ceiling islands above workplaces. “The cabinets were developed in collaboration with Lensvelt, coated on the outside with a specially designed sound-absorbing fabric. The cabinets are developed based on research by acoustic experts. On the outside the cabinets are lined with fabric. On the inside, the doors are perforated. ”
Each workstation has generous storage space with sliding drawers and acoustic modules where space is left for each employee to adapt the environment to their own personal needs. “if you want to sit apart for a meeting or phone call you can go to the flex areas and meeting rooms in the office bar. These are placed slightly higher so you can easily look out the windows. ”

OC&C Strategy Consultants Rotterdam

Robust, industrial and comfortable. These were the keywords with which Fokkema & Partners started work on the interior of the offices of Rotterdam consulting firm OC&C. Columns were stripped and ceilings were left in view in order to get the crude concrete in sight. The roughness of these surfaces are contrasted with high quality finishes.
Boompjes, where the office of OC&C is located, has a rich history. After the second war a big part of the buildings on this street were in ruins. The first building erected on the promenade was the building of De Nederlandsche Bank. On the upper two floors Fokkema & Partners established the office of the consulting firm.

OC&C initially asked for traditional workstations. But an analysis of the work of the firm by Fokkema & Partners, led to an alternative plan in which open workplaces are combined with private areas. This program was complemented by places where spontaneous meeting is facilitated. By concentrating the meeting and social spaces in the middle of the floor, the office is always lively, even when few workers are present. It was decided to keep simple lines and specific interior details that refer to the history of the former DNB office building, which dates back to the 50s. Lensvelt designed workspaces in line with the concept, that show how the frames have been finished, adding a touch of rawness.

The Good Hotel Amsterdam

In response to a commission from The Good Hospitality Group, Creative Company Blooey designs together with Sikko Valk two hotel boats. The Good Hospitality Group combines a high-quality guest experience with social entrepreneurship. The hotels function as platforms where guests can meet the local community, where local people are trained, and where profits are reinvested in local projects. The design of the hotels embraces this vision and visualizes the story behind the people and community. In the interior design of the rooms and public areas combined Sikko Valk and Remko Verhaagen functional Dutch design with sensual Brazilian artworks and materials, resulting in a no-nonsense interior that feels welcoming and authentic. KLM Digital Studio

KLM took the step in 2017 to bring together the teams that develop various digital services, tools and information systems in the Digital Transformation department. The community of 175 employees is seen as a pilot and has a temporary nature, so that it is possible to explore how KLM’s winning way of working can also be realized in digital form.
Due to the temporary nature, a limited budget was available. Existing fixed components (floor coverings, layouts) were the starting point. These are only adjusted at the most necessary places: where the floor coverings were in bad condition, parts were laid in with durable carpet tiles of recycled fishing nets.
The familiar colors of the KLM house style have been used in a striking way in the interior. A beautiful contrast is achieved by vintage furniture in the famous blue tones and a dash of red with AVL Shaker Bar stools, contrasting the Boring work furniture.

Netherlands Embassy in Berlin

After Berlin again became the capital of Germany in 1991, the Netherlands Embassy found a temporary shelter in the Friedrichstrasse in 1999. The Dutch government had already decided to build a new embassy building. A building must be a symbol in all aspects of good relations between the Netherlands and Germany. We deliberately chose a location in Mitte, the historic center of Berlin. The embassy building is on the Spree and the Friedrichsgracht the only canal in Berlin. This canal was built in the 17th century by Dutch engineers. This unique waterfront location with special reflections and lighting effects, the location has an almost Dutch character.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, chose in 2000 the concept of the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas of the architecture firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam. The design must not only meet the requirements of the client, but also to the strict planning conditions that the city of Berlin. OMA designed a building that was a reflection of the Netherlands as a country with an open and modern society. The freestanding glass cube stands for the Dutch sovereignty and openness. The office of Lensvelt to Dutch design developed specifically for the building.

The new building was officially opened on March 2, 2004 by the then Queen Beatrix. Also present were: the former Federal President Rau, former Federal President Von Weizsäcker and the two foreign ministers, Fischer and Bot.

The Hague, Rijnstraat 8

The former Ministry of Housing, transformed into a flexible new government office to various ministries and departments after a major refurbishment in 2017. Rijnstraat 8 is part of the master plan of office accommodation in The Hague. It is the first government office that brings together and accommodates multiple government organizations.

In total there are 4400 workplaces for more than 6000 users. The building next to The Hague Central Station will soon accommodate more than 6,000 (mostly) civil servants from Foreign Affairs and Infrastructure and the Environment, the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA), the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) and the Repatriation and Departure Service (DT & V).

The former office building was converted into flexible offices for the government by BAM and Plan@Office. These offices are flexible work environments where people work independently of time and place. The renovation of the building at Rijnstraat is the latest and most extreme example of this development. It has facilities for meeting, networking, communication and cooperation. It is the largest realized Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Europe.

The main meeting room has the same atmosphere as the former Van Kleffens Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is one of the landmarks in the new building. Lensvelt Contract delivered a major contribution to the meeting room with AVL Office Chairs, and created custom made seats for press with integrated folding writing tables.

On all floors stylized seating areas are available in various designs, in different colors of artificial leather and natural leather. The Blocks seats and sofas are designed in collaboration with OMA Architects and are fitted with plug and play facilities.
