Richard Hutten This Bucket Chair Steel frame

Richard Hutten This Bucket Chair Steel frame provided with a steel four-legged chassis.

There was a need for a new, distinctive chair with armrests. A chair with the same design language as the elegant, stackable and lightweight bestseller: This Chair, which Hutten developed in 2004 together
with Lensvelt. It became This Bucket Chair in 2017. This instant classic has a familiar typology: the tub. But then with a new appearance and production process. Lensvelt and Hutten have done extensive research on ergonomics and comfort. This Bucket Chair is better than any other chair. The combination of this material and the positioning of the mounting points ensures that the scale moves with respect to the frame. This makes the chair ingenious, aesthetic, flexible, elegant, functional, affordable, circular and extremely comfortable.

Rietveld Military chair

In the year that De Stijl celebrates its centenary (2017), Rietveld Originals and Lensvelt start a special collaboration: Lensvelt becomes exclusive distributor of Gerrit Rietveld’s Military Furniture series for the business market. The famous art movement De Stijl was founded in 1917 by Theo van Doesburg, Piet Mondrian and Bart van der Leck. Furniture maker and architect Gerrit Rietveld soon joined. Rietveld made the ideals of De Stijl spatially visible. In 1923 he coloured his armchair red and blue. Not much later he built the famous Rietveld Schröder House and designed a series of Military furniture for the Catholic Military Home in Utrecht. For this he made the first use of bolts and nuts for wooden joints instead of wooden dowels. The Military Chair is sturdy, robust and is characterized by the use of sleepers and contrast colours.

Dimensions:
Chair height: 90 cm.
Chair width: 39 cm.
Seat height: 45 cm.

Richard Hutten This 102 Wooden Chair Armrests

This 102 Wooden Chair Armrest has a 5 mm thick seat and a thin chrome metal wire base. It only weighs 1.7 kg because of the minimalistic use of material. Furthermore,This 102 Wooden Chair Armrest is quick and easy to connect and can be stacked in large quantities. The bevelled seat is finished with a 3D veneer, which is an innovative material that is extremely pliable and can be moulded in ways that the traditional material cannot. PH1 Chair Ronald Hooft Lensvelt OMA Architects Timmerhuis

The PH1 Chair was originally designed for restaurant Gustavino on the Zuidas of Amsterdam. Fun fact: many reviews of the food of this restaurant also mention the comfortable, stylish chairs. The most important feature of the PH1 Chair is that it actually consists of three separate seats rolled into one. The base is made of rough steel finished wit a transparent coating and seat is covered in leather. For Gustavino, the designer duo selected a supple leather in the colors olive, chocolate and crème.  Available upholstery for good grip and comfort: Tribe leather, a rough suede-like leather. Dimensions: 40 x 50 x 71 cm.

Tribe leather: West European bull hide with rubbed finish, fully aniline dyed.

Richard Hutten No Sign Of Design Chair

Richard Hutten, one of the Netherlands’ most internationally successful designers, launched No Sign Of Design in 1989 as part of his graduation project at the Design Academy Eindhoven. The furniture series is an anti-design statement against Bořek Šípek’s neo-baroque style and other postmodernists who dominated Dutch furniture in the early nineties. With No Sign of Design Hutten radically returned to the essence of form, as Rietveld had done before. The production of these icons had been a wish of Hans Lensvelt’s for years because of the sober no-nonsense style. Since 2014, the No Sign Of Design series has been included in the collection.
Material clear lacquered beech.

Design: Richard Hutten 1989.

Wiel Arets LRC Chair

The ‘Leidsche Rijn College’ (LRC), in the suburbs of the same name near Utrecht, was designed by Wiel Arets. The design of the façade is striking. This is characterised by alternating rectangular, grey-black concrete areas with rectangular windows, which have strong, light grey frames. The interior is neutral and predominantly white. Arets designed special furniture for the college, with a modest design, but an especially fine finish: the LRC Chair. This is produced from white plastic and is a lightweight. The new wooden model was based on this LRC Chair and it consists of a frame made out of bevelled, laminated wood with a layer of wood veneer. This chair is comfortable to sit on and is suitable for both the office and at home.

LRC Chair is a chair with striking lines, made with walnut or oak veneer. Dimensions 47 x 52 x 84 cm.

Design: Wiel Arets (2004).
