Baranowitz + Kronenberg

Baranowitz + Kronenberg is the interior design and architecture studio of Irene Kronenberg and Alon Baranowitz, based in Tel Aviv. The studio has become renowned for their work in exclusively luxurious hotels, restaurants and public and commercial spaces that attract modern nomads and locals alike. Their signature is visible in hotels like Sir Albert in Amsterdam and W Hotel (Ibiza, Amsterdam, Prague) and Dutch restaurants like MOMO, The Duchess and Mr Porter, but also at the Sony Center in Berlin and the award-winning restaurant Topolopompo and Pastel Brasserie in Tel Aviv. With its unique contextual awareness, B+K keeps local history relevant without losing sight of what a global city of the 21st century needs.

Together with Lensvelt, Baranowitz + Kronenberg designed the New Chesterfield, a modern and playful version of the iconic Chesterfield chair.

A playful take on the iconic Chesterfield chair that dominated eighteenth-century interior. Usually recognized by the buttoned upholstery, horizontal back line and curled armrests, this version of the Chesterfield for Lensvelt is a fresh new 21st century interpretation of the classic.

The sheer elegance of upholstery that neatly follows the bended metal mesh frame makes for a refined exterior skeleton. The four slender and elegantly curved tubes form the sleek base of the chair, keeping it subtle and light. Designed and interpreted for Lensvelt the chair exudes exclusivity, authenticity and the desire for experiential living.
