Barlaeus Gymnasium Amsterdam

The building was thoroughly renovated in the school years 2002-2004 and merged with the neighboring school building. The renovation cost 14 million euros, with the interior completely overhauled.

The media center on the third floor is equipped with cabinets originally designed by Maarten van Severen for a library in Seattle. Lensvelt has done the interior together with Concrete Architects. The elemental straight “school sets” of metal and wood were designed by Concrete Architects and produced by Lensvelt.
