From October 2021 to March 2022, Dubai hosted the 35th World Expo with the aim of "connecting minds and creating the future, through sustainability, mobility and opportunity." From these overarching themes, hundreds of countries present the very latest in architecture and technology with their own pavilions. Among them is the pavilion of the Netherlands: a sustainable miniature world created by V8 Architects.

Uniting energy, water & food

V8 Architects' ambition to "focus on minimizing their footprint and making it as sustainable as possible" was met with flying colors, as the circular climate system they created is entirely powered by nature. The pavilion refers to the nature-driven character of the Netherlands and combines inventions from various Dutch designers and technology companies.

The pavilion forms the ultimate embodiment of how we connect energy, water and food in our country. All three are generated sustainably on site, right in front of the visitor's eyes. With the inexhaustible power of nature being the number one inspiration, this creates a sensational experience for all spectators. And the success shows: a month after its opening, some 150,000 people have already visited the pavilion, making the Dutch biotope one of the best visited country pavilions to date.

Lensvelt is delighted to have been able to contribute to this impressive pavilion by supplying and installing furniture from its own collection, as well as pieces from other names such as Verner Panton and Prints van Oranje. In addition to the lowered Cloud Tables specially designed by Atelier van Lieshout, the pavilion's VIP lounge features AVL Office Chairs, Cathedra Loungers, and the stackable 141 Chairs by Maarten Baas.
