Zones Urbaines Sensibles is located at the Schieblock, a building that they have adapted, reformed and appropriated themselves as squatters. Where their home-workplace used to be, there is now a circuit of spaces in which desks, model workplaces, meeting rooms and the kitchen with bar alternate.
They have kept in tact the original concrete material and tried to make minimal interventions in order to make it more functional. With a jungle of plants, it makes for the ideal serene office garden. The first collaboration with Lensvelt in 2010 was to make the ‘Happy Sheep’ for the Dutch pavilion in Shanghai and now they function as entertainment for the seating landscape in their very own studio. The studio has a lot of dynamic areas with space for chill-zones and for productivity. The Boring Task Chairs are an enjoyable compliment and addition to the neutral workstations alongside being extremely comfortable.
