Recap: atelier visit Maarten Baas x Lensvelt

The Brilliant collaboration between Maarten Baas and Lensvelt

Maarten Baas opened the doors of his studio to celebrate his collaboration with furniture label Lensvelt. Lensvelt and Baas have been working together since 2017, developing the MB 101 Chair, which won them the prestigious 2017 Milano Design Award, but their friendship goes back much further.

Lensvelt and Maarten Baas' respective guests were welcomed with drinks in the studio, followed by an engaging tour by Maarten Baas of his studio. Here Baas gave insight into his work and talked about his stunning, sparkling piece "Less Less Less" (Milan Design Week 2023) and the new "Off Balance" mirror, as well as his famous Real Time Grandfather Clock, which is also included in the Rijksmuseum's permanent collection. Maarten also confidently showed new embargoed pieces.

In his new warehouse across the street was a retrospective exhibition featuring a diverse and extensive selection from Baas' oeuvre. Guests were able to admire the objects up close. The long table set for dinner featured 75 chairs by Maarten Baas, designed for Lensvelt.

Lensvelt CEO Hans Lensvelt gave a hilarious presentation about the collaboration and history he shares with Baas. This addition added an extra dimension to the evening and offered guests an even more complete picture of Maarten Baas' work and collaboration with Lensvelt. Afterwards, Maarten addressed Hans Lensvelt and invited everyone to the walking dinner. The guests enjoyed delicious homemade pasta and roast beef from the barbecue, prepared by the Lensvelt team.
